Today, we are going to make a very tasty, cold, and sweet fruit custard recipe that is not only delicious but also healthy. This dessert is perfect for serving at Iftar during Festivals or as a refreshing treat in summer. It’s fun to prepare, easy to make, and highly nutritious. Let’s dive into the recipe!

Step 1: Heating the Milk

First, place a pan on the gas stove and pour in 1 tablespoon of water. Next, add 1 liter of full-cream milk. You can use raw milk or any pre-boiled milk. Set aside half a cup of the milk from the 1-liter portion. Now, turn on the gas to medium heat and stir the milk occasionally until it begins to boil.

Step 2: Preparing the Custard Mixture

While the milk is heating, we will prepare the custard mixture. Take the half cup of milk you set aside and pour it into a mixing bowl. Add 4 tablespoons of vanilla-flavored custard powder to the milk (you can opt for any flavor you prefer). This will give the fruit custard its creamy and thick texture. Mix well, but remember not to heat the milk before adding the custard powder—use cold milk to avoid lumps. Once mixed, set it aside.

Step 3: Adding Sugar to the Milk

Now, let’s check on the milk. It should be boiling by now. Stir it one more time and then reduce the flame. Add about half a cup of sugar to the milk, adjusting the sweetness to your taste. Stir well and cook for 1-2 minutes to ensure the sugar is fully dissolved.

Step 4: Adding the Custard Mixture

When the milk is boiling and the sugar is dissolved, add the custard mixture into the pan slowly. Stir continuously as you pour in the custard, lowering the flame to avoid lumps. If you don’t stir well, the custard might clump together, so keep mixing until it thickens and the raw flavor of the custard goes away. If needed, cook for 3-4 minutes to ensure the custard is properly cooked.

Step 5: Cooling the Custard

Once the custard has thickened, turn off the heat and let it cool. It’s essential to bring the custard to room temperature. Once cooled, transfer it to a mixing or serving bowl. Then, refrigerate it for 2-3 hours to chill and set.

Step 6: Adding Fruits

After the custard is chilled, it’s time to add the fruits. For this, I’ve cut bananas, apples (about half a cup), black grapes (half a cup), green grapes, and kiwis. I also added half a cup of pomegranate to make it colorful. Additionally, I’m mixing in 1 tablespoon of finely chopped almonds. You can add any dry fruits you like and adjust the quantities based on your preference.

Step 7: Final Mixing and Serving

Mix everything well, and now your fruit custard is ready. You can also add other fruits like strawberries, but avoid high-water fruits like watermelon, as they might make the custard too watery. After mixing, you can either refrigerate the custard again or serve it immediately.

This fruit custard is creamy, delicious, and incredibly easy to make. It’s a dessert for the holidays, and if you enjoyed the recipe, don’t forget to like and Comment.
