Today, we are going to prepare a very interesting and tasty Masala Tawa Fish Fry recipe. This is a very easy recipe that is crispy and spicy on the outside, while being flavorful and juicy on the inside. You can make this Tawa Fish Fry as a starter or serve it with pulses and rice. It’s a versatile and quick recipe, perfect for any meal. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Preparing the Masala for Marinating the Fish

2 teaspoons of ginger garlic paste

2 teaspoons of green chili paste

1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 teaspoon red chili powder

1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder

*1/2 teaspoon coriander powder

* 1/2 teaspoon garam masala

* 1/2 teaspoon Kashmiri chili powder (for color)

1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder

* 1 teaspoon tandoori masala

Salt to taste (1 teaspoon recommended)

2 tablespoons lemon juice (about the juice of one large lemon)

Mix all the ingredients well. If the mixture feels too dry, add a little more lemon juice, but avoid adding water. For binding, we will add 2 tablespoons of gram flour. You can substitute gram flour with rice flour or corn flour. Add one tablespoon of water and mix the gram flour well, so the spices will adhere properly to the fish.

Step 2: Preparing the Fish

I am using two whole tilapia fish. After cleaning them thoroughly, make cuts on both sides of the fish. This allows the spices to penetrate deeply. Apply a thick layer of the prepared masala onto both sides of the fish, ensuring it is well-rubbed into the cuts as well. This will allow the fish to absorb all the flavors. The fish weighs around 1300-1400 grams before cleaning and cutting, but after preparation, its weight is approximately 800-900 grams.

Once the spices are well-coated, cover the fish and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes. If you have more time, you can marinate the fish for a longer period.

Step 3: Cooking the Fish on the Tawa

After marinating for almost an hour, heat an iron pan on the gas. Add 2-3 tablespoons of oil to the pan. We don’t need too much oil—just enough to cook the fish. Place the marinated fish on the pan and fry them on low flame. Don’t raise the flame to medium or high, as it will burn the fish from the outside while leaving it raw on the inside.

Cook each side for 4-5 minutes on low flame. After turning the fish, cook the other side for another 4-5 minutes. The total cooking time for the fish will be around 10-12 minutes, depending on the size of the fish. You’ll know the fish is ready when both sides are golden brown and crispy.

Step 4: Serving the Fish

Once the fish is fried and cooked well, remove it from the pan and serve it hot. This Tawa Fish Fry is a very interesting and flavorful dish that you can enjoy as a starter or with dal and rice. The taste is amazing because we’ve cooked it on the tawa, which adds a special flavor.

Step 5: Tips for Preparing in Advance

If you want, you can marinate the fish the night before and store it in the refrigerator. The next day, simply fry it and serve it hot. This way, you can prepare a delicious Tawa Fish Fry in less time and with minimal oil.

Thank You ..♥️
