Step 1: Preparing the Bread
First, take **3 slices of fresh bread**. Cut the edges off and set them aside. Now, cut each slice of bread into **4 smaller pieces**. You’ll get a total of **12 small pieces** from the 3 slices of bread. Place them on a plate and set aside.
Step 2: Preparing the Veggies
In a large bowl, we’ll add some chopped vegetables:
1) 1 large potato (grated)
2) 1 medium-sized carrot (finely chopped)
3) 1 large onion (sliced)
You can also add other veggies like bell peppers or finely crushed cauliflower.Next, add **2 finely chopped green chilies** and **about 4 tbsp chopped coriander** (adjust the amount as per your preference).
Now, add the following spices:
1) ½ tsp ajwain (carom seeds)
2) ½ tsp fennel seeds
3) ½ tsp cumin seeds
4) ½ tsp turmeric powder
5) ½ tsp red chili powder
6) ½ tsp crushed red chili
7) ¼ tsp black pepper powder
8) 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
Add **2 tbsp besan (gram flour)** and **1 tbsp rice flour** (or corn flour if you don’t have rice flour). These will help bind everything together.Add **a little oil** for binding the mixture.
Step 3: Mixing the Ingredients
Mix everything well with a spoon. The vegetables will release moisture, so you don’t need to add much water. But if the mixture feels dry, add **2 tbsp water** to help bind the ingredients together. You can also add **a pinch of orange food color** (optional) for a vibrant look, especially if making this for kids.
Once everything is mixed well, it’s time to dip the bread pieces into the mixture.
Step 4: Coating the Bread
Take a slice of bread and dip it in the vegetable mixture, making sure it’s fully coated on both sides. Press gently so that the mixture sticks well to the bread.

Now, heat some oil in a pan on **medium flame**. Once the oil is hot, gently place the coated bread pieces in the pan.
Step 5: Frying the Snack
Fry the bread pieces on medium flame for **3-4 minutes** or until they turn golden brown. Make sure to turn them around to cook both sides evenly. Avoid cooking on high heat, as it will burn the outside while leaving the inside raw.
Once the bread pieces are golden and crispy on both sides, remove them from the pan and place them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
Step 6: Serving
Your **quick and tasty bread pakora** is now ready! This snack is not only delicious but also very easy to make.
