Let’s Start Recipe
Today, I’m sharing with you a **delicious fish recipe** It is very easy to make and tastes absolutely amazing. The spices used are easily available in your kitchen, and the end result will be a flavorful dish that you’ll want to prepare again and again.
This recipe is simple, yet incredibly tasty—definitely give it a try and share your feedback! If you like the recipe, don’t forget to **like**, **share** it with your friends, and let me know how it turned out.
Step 1: Preparing the Fish
I am using **700 grams of fish** today (you can choose any fish of your liking). Clean the fish well and place it on a plate. For this recipe, we’re using **Rohu fish**, but you can use any fish you prefer.
Now, add **1/2 teaspoon of salt** on the fish, and spread it evenly. Then, squeeze the juice of **one lemon** over the fish, discarding the seeds. Keep **half a lemon** aside for later use.
Step 2: Adding the Spices
Now, add the following spices to the fish:
1) 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
2) 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
3) 1/4 teaspoon garam masala
Massage the spices into the fish on both sides, ensuring it’s well-coated.
Step 3: Frying the Fish
Place a **pan** on the stove and add **1 tablespoon of oil**. Heat the oil on **high flame**. Fry the fish one by one in the hot oil. **Fry on high heat** to ensure the fish cooks about **50%** through. The key is to achieve a beautiful color on the fish.
After frying both sides, remove the fish from the pan and set it aside on a plate.
Step 4: Preparing the Gravy
In the same pan, add **2 tablespoons of oil**. You can also add the oil left from frying the fish, as it adds a lot of flavor.
Add the following whole spices
1) 2 bay leaves
2) 1 small piece of cinnamon stick
3) 2 green cardamoms
4) 3–4 cloves
5) 12-15 black peppercorns
6) 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
Saute the spices for a few seconds until they release their aroma.
Now, add **3 medium-sized onions**, finely chopped, and fry them on **high flame** until golden brown.
Next, make a **puree** from **2 large tomatoes** (about 200 grams) and add it to the pan once the onions are golden. Cook the tomato paste for about **4-5 minutes** until it thickens and the oil begins to separate from it.
Step 5: Adding Powdered Spices
Now, add the following powdered spices:
1) 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
2) 1 tablespoon coriander powder
3) 1 teaspoon red chili powder
If you like your fish spicier, feel free to add a few **dried red chilies** (cut into pieces) as well.
Cook the spices on **high flame**, adding **2 tablespoons of water** to prevent them from burning. Stir continuously to ensure the spices blend well and the oil separates from the masala.

Step 6: Adding Water & Cooking the Fish
Once the masala is cooked, add **3 chopped green chilies** for extra flavor. Then, pour in **1.5 cups of water** (adjust to your preferred consistency for the gravy). Allow the gravy to come to a boil.
Now, add the fried fish carefully into the gravy. **Do not stir with a spoon**, as this will break the fish. Instead, gently shake the pan so that the fish gets coated in the gravy without breaking. Let it cook for **6-7 minutes** on medium flame.
Step 7: Final Touch
Once the fish has cooked in the gravy, add **1 teaspoon garam masala** and **1 teaspoon roasted cumin powder**. Mix the spices gently with the gravy and fish.
Lastly, squeeze the juice of the **remaining half lemon** into the dish for a fresh, tangy flavor.
Garnish with **freshly chopped coriander** (a little, not too much).
Step 8: Ready to Serve
Your **delicious fish curry** is now ready! Serve it hot with rice or roti. The flavor of the masala and the perfectly fried fish will make this dish absolutely mouthwatering.
Thank You….♥️
