Green Chicken Curry Recipe
Ingredients
1) Boneless chicken – 250 g
2) Thick curd (yogurt) – ½ cup
3) Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
4) Red chili powder – 1 tsp
5) Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
6) Garam masala – ½ tsp
7) Cumin powder – ½ tsp
8) Coriander powder – ½ tsp
9) Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
10) Salt – as required
11) Oil or butter – 2 tbsp (for cooking chicken)
12) Onion slices – ½ cup (for stuffing)
13) Capsicum slices – ½ cup (optional)
14) Green chutney – 2 tbsp
15) Mayonnaise – 2 tbsp (optional, for creamy taste)
16) Paratha / Lachha Paratha – 4 (ready-made or homemade)
Let’s Start Recipe
Today we will make a very interesting and very tasty **green chicken curry recipe**. It is very easy to make. You can prepare it for dinner**. You can serve it with **parathas, , naan or rice**. It tastes amazing, and you can prepare it on the day of festivals too.
Step 1: Frying the Chicken
First of all, in a big pan, add **4–5 tablespoons of oil**. Heat the oil well. You can also use ghee instead of oil.
After this, add **2 tablespoons of ginger and garlic paste** and fry while stirring continuously on **medium flame for 1–2 minutes** so that the rawness goes away.
Now, add **1 kilogram of chicken** and fry it with ginger garlic on **medium high flame** for 4–5 minutes until the color changes and the chicken is fried well.
Add **1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder** and **1 tablespoon salt** (as per taste). Mix and fry for 1–2 minutes more so the chicken absorbs the flavors.
Step 2: Add Curd
Reduce the flame to **very low**. Add **1 cup well-whipped curd** to the chicken. Mix gently on low flame first, then cook on medium high flame until the curd water dries up and the chicken fries nicely with the curd.
Step 3: Prepare Green Masala
Meanwhile, prepare a green masala paste. In a mixer jar, add:
1)15–20 cashews
2) 10–12 green chillies (adjust to taste)
3) 3 fried medium onions (golden brown)
4) A few mint leaves
5) A handful of fresh coriander leaves (with stalks)
Add a little water and grind into a **fine smooth paste**.

Step 4: Cook the Masala with Chicken
Now, add the **green masala paste** to the chicken. Pour **1/2 cup water** into the mixer jar and add that too. Mix well and cook for **4–5 minutes** on medium high flame, stirring continuously so the cashew paste doesn’t stick at the bottom.
Then, add **1 to 1.5 cups water** (as per gravy consistency). Mix well, cover, and cook on **low flame for 15–20 minutes** until the chicken is fully cooked. Stir once or twice in between.
Step 5: Add Final Spices
After 16–17 minutes, when the chicken is cooked, add:
1) 1 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
2) 1 teaspoon black pepper powder
3) 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
Mix well and cook for **3–4 minutes** on medium flame so that the spices blend with the gravy.
Step 6: Finish and Garnish
Finally, add a few **thickly chopped green chillies** and a **handful of chopped coriander**. Mix well and cook only for 1–2 minutes.
Your **Green Chicken Curry** is ready — rich, flavorful, and aromatic!
Step 7: Serving
