½ tsp salt (adjust as per taste)

Lemon juice from ½ lemon

Other Ingredients:

2 tbsp cornflour or arrowroot powder (for crispiness)

5-6 tbsp oil (for frying)

Today, we’re going to make a **delicious, spicy, and crispy Pomfret Fry** recipe. It’s very easy to make and can be prepared quickly. You can enjoy it with dal and rice, serve it with green chutney, or with onion rings. Let’s start the recipe right away!

Step 1: Cleaning the Fish

First, take **500 grams** of **pomfret fish**.Clean the fish thoroughly and wash it **2-3 times**. After cleaning, make **2-3 cuts** on each side of the fish. This will help the marinade penetrate deep into the fish.

Step 2: Applying Lemon and Salt

Once the fish is cleaned and cut, sprinkle **½ tsp salt** and add **lemon juice** on the fish.Massage the salt and lemon juice into the fish to remove any smell. If you don’t have lemon, you can also use **kokum water** instead.Flip the fish and repeat the process on the other side.

Step 3: Preparing the Marinade

1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

1 tsp red chili powder (spicy)

2 tsp Kashmiri chili powder (for color)

1 tsp roasted cumin powder

¼ tsp turmeric powder

½ tsp garam masala powder

1 tbsp fish masala powder (if unavailable, you can skip this)

½ tsp black pepper powder

*½ tsp salt** (adjust as per taste)

½ lemon juice

Add **2 tbsp cornflour** or **arrowroot powder**. This will help the spices stick and make the fish crispy while frying. Mix everything well. If needed, add **1-2 tbsp water** to make a thick paste.

Step 4: Coating the Fish

Coat the fish with the prepared spice paste. Rub the marinade thoroughly into the cuts and all over the fish. The cornflour will help seal the spices, making the fish crispy and flavorful. Let the fish marinate for **1-2 hours** in the fridge. If you have more time, you can leave it longer.

Step 5: Heating the Oil

After marinating the fish, heat **5-6 tbsp oil** in a pan on medium heat.Once the oil is hot, carefully place the fish in the pan. Make sure not to touch the fish for the first 2-3 minutes.

Step 6: Frying the Fish

After **3-4 minutes**, flip the fish carefully using tongs or a spatula. Fry on low-to-medium flame for another **4-5 minutes**.The total frying time should be around **8-10 minutes**. The fish should be crispy and golden brown on both sides.

Step 7: Serving

Once the fish is perfectly crispy and fried, remove it from the pan. Serve it hot with **dal and rice**, **green chutney**, or **onion rings**.

Thank You…♥️
