Let’s Start Recipe
Today, we are going to make a **super delicious Vegetable Burger** that tastes even better than those from **KFC** and **McDonald’s**. It’s super easy to make at home, and it’s a must-try! The recipe is very simple, so let’s get started!
Step:1🌿 Cooking the Vegetables
Start by heating a **pan** on the stove.Add **1 to 1.5 tablespoons of oil** and **1 tablespoon of butter** (the butter enhances the taste).
Once the butter melts, add **1 teaspoon of cumin seeds** and lightly fry them over low heat to release the aroma.
Next, add **1 tablespoon of finely chopped garlic** and **1 tablespoon of finely chopped green chilies**. Fry them for a short time, ensuring the garlic doesn’t turn dark.
Then, add **1 medium-sized onion**, finely chopped.Cook the onions over medium flame, stirring occasionally, until they soften and become translucent (without changing the color).
Add **½ cup of finely chopped carrots** and **½ cup of finely chopped French beans**.You can also add other vegetables of your choice, just make sure they are finely chopped.Stir-fry these vegetables over medium-high heat for **1 minute**. The vegetables should cook lightly without getting too soft.
After that, add **½ cup of chopped capsicum** (bell pepper) and **½ cup of frozen peas**.You can use fresh peas if you have them, but add them with the carrots and beans. Stir the mixture well and cook for another **1 minute** over medium-high flame.
Step 2: 🌶️ Adding Spices
Now, add **1 teaspoon of salt** (or to taste), **1 teaspoon of crushed red chili powder**, **½ teaspoon of black pepper powder**, and **1 teaspoon of roasted cumin powder**.
Also, add a pinch of **turmeric (¼ teaspoon)** and **1 teaspoon of amchur powder (dry mango powder)**. If you don’t have amchur, you can use **chaat masala** instead.
Add **1 teaspoon of oregano** or **mixed herb seasoning** for extra flavor. Stir everything well and cook the spices with the vegetables for another **1 minute**.
Step 3 :🥔 Adding Boiled Potatoes
Add **5 medium-sized boiled and grated potatoes** to the pan.Avoid mashing the potatoes; instead, **grate them** to ensure the mixture remains smooth with no lumps.Mix the potatoes with the vegetables and spices. Cook over medium flame for **2-3 minutes** to allow any excess moisture in the potatoes to evaporate.
If the mixture feels a little dry, you can add **extra salt** to taste. After mixing everything well, add a handful of **freshly chopped coriander leaves**.Turn off the gas flame and mix it well. Let the stuffing cool down completely before making the patties. You can refrigerate the mixture if needed.
Step 4 : 🧀 Preparing the Coating Slurry
While the mixture is cooling, make the slurry for coating the patties. In a bowl, add **½ cup of all-purpose flour (maida)**, **¼ cup of cornflour**, **¼ teaspoon of salt**, **½ teaspoon of crushed red chili powder**, and a pinch of **oregano or mixed herb seasoning**.Mix all the ingredients well. Slowly add water to form a thick batter (neither too runny nor too thick). This batter should have a coating consistency.

Step 5 :🍞 Making the Patties
Once the stuffing mixture has cooled down, add **½ cup of bread crumbs** to it. You can make bread crumbs by crushing the edges of bread slices.Mix well to absorb any excess moisture. Alternatively, you can use soaked **poha (flattened rice)** if you don’t have bread crumbs.
Now, grease your hands with a little oil. Take some of the mixture and form round balls, then press them to make flat patties.Make sure the patties are slightly smaller than the size of the burger buns.I made **5 patties** with this mixture. Any leftover mixture can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
Step 6 :🍔 Coating the Patties
Dip each patty into the flour-cornflour slurry, coating both sides evenly. Then roll it in the bread crumbs to coat it completely. For extra crispiness, you can **double coat** the patties, which will prevent them from breaking while frying.Once coated, set the patties aside. You can freeze them for 2-3 weeks if you wish.
Step 7 : 🍳 Frying the Patties
Heat oil in a **pan** over medium-high flame.Carefully fry the patties in the oil, one by one. Don’t touch them for a minute or so to allow them to fry properly.
Once one side turns golden brown, flip them over to fry the other side.
Fry for **4-5 minutes** until the patties are golden brown and crispy.Once done, remove them from the oil and place them on a tissue paper to absorb any excess oil.
Step 8 : 🍞 Assembling the Burger
To assemble the burger, take **burger buns** and cut them in half.Toast the buns in a pan with a little butter to enhance the flavor.
Once toasted, spread a layer of **mayonnaise** and **tomato ketchup** mixed with a pinch of chili flakes on the bottom half.
Place a **lettuce leaf** (or cabbage if you don’t have lettuce), then add a slice of **processed cheese** on top.
Now, place the crispy patty on top of the cheese slice.Spread a little more sauce on the top half of the bun and place it on top of the patty.

Step 9 : Serving the Burger
Now, your **delicious vegetable burger** is ready to serve!
This burger will outshine any KFC or McDonald’s burger. It’s crispy, flavorful, and loved by both kids and adults alike.
Serve it with **tomato ketchup** and **French fries** for the perfect snack!
Try this recipe once, and you’ll never go back to store-bought burgers again!
