So friends, today we are going to make a very tasty snack using whole wheat flour. It gets ready quickly, and whenever you’re in the mood to eat something crispy and tangy, you can make this. From kids to adults, everyone loves it. So let’s start making it!

To prepare this recipe, take a mixing bowl and add 1 cup of whole wheat flour (you can use all-purpose flour instead, if you like). Then add ¼ cup of semolina (sooji), which will make the snack crispy.

Now add 1 finely chopped onion, 1 finely chopped tomato (with seeds removed), and half of a capsicum, finely chopped. You can add any vegetables of your choice. Add 1 inch of grated ginger and 2 finely chopped green chilies.

Add 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds, ½ teaspoon of crushed red chili (you can use red chili powder instead), and a pinch or two of turmeric powder for color. Add salt according to taste.

To make the snack puff up nicely, we are adding 2 tablespoons of yogurt (since it is sour, we’re using just 2 tablespoons; if using plain yogurt, you can take 3–4 tablespoons). Add some finely chopped fresh coriander leaves.

Now, gradually add water and mix everything to make a thick batter—something similar to pakora batter. Let the mixture rest for 5 minutes so the semolina can absorb moisture and fluff up.

After 5 minutes, you’ll see that the semolina has puffed up and the batter has thickened. Now heat some oil in a pan. Once hot, add 1 spoon of butter. Spread it evenly.

Pour the batter in small portions to shallow fry the snack. You can deep fry them if you prefer. While frying, keep pouring a bit of hot oil over the top of each snack to help them puff up and cook evenly from above as well.

Once golden on one side, flip and fry the other side until golden brown and crispy. Repeat this process for all the batter. See how crispy they’ve turned out?

And the best part is, we didn’t use any baking soda or eno, yet the snack turned out fluffy and crispy. Also, it’s not oily—it’s made in very little oil because it’s prepared with whole wheat flour.

We’ve fried all the snacks. This recipe requires very few ingredients and can be made quickly. It’s not only crispy but also very tasty.

So friends, try this dry flour snack recipe at least once. I hope you like it! If you liked the recipe, give the pen a like. And if you are new to the website, don’t forget to subscribe to learn more recipes every day. See you again with another new recipe. Thank you!
